Finn noir residency

Heidi Niemi and Sinikka Kyllönen continue developing Finn Noir at Vaba Lava Narva in Estonia. The three weeks residency is supported by The Finnish Institute in Estonia and The Jenny and Antti Wihuri's Foundation.

Eurovision

Heidi will be appearing in an upcoming Netflix movie, Eurovision Song Contest: The story of Fire Saga playing opposite Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams. The movie will be released on the 26th of June 2020.

Round Table

Picture
Arts Council England has funded Heidi's upcoming project Round Table, a participatory performance piece about community and social story-telling.

#Snow White

Heidi has been awarded with a grant from The Finnish Cultural Foundation to develop and tour #SnowWhite, a one-woman not-so-classic re-telling of the famous story, dealing with stereotypical gender roles and the pressures of social media.

Mountains

Heidi has recently been part of an R&D process for Mountains, a co-production of The Unicorn and All in Theatre. The company explored themes of language and cultural difference through physical theatre and clowning.

Kafka for kids!

Kafka for Kids! returns to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2019. Kat, Karter and Karl will be back with last year's smash hit.

finn noir

Finn Noir's first work-in-progress will be seen at Camden People's Theatre on the 5th and 6th of March as part of their Sprint 19 Festival.

In the bleak north of the frozen arctic, a small town slumbers in the endless winter. Two detectives huddled against the darkness, drink bitter coffee and smoke another cigarette as they try to solve a mystery in the midst of the perpetual night.  Fuck Scandi Noir, This is Finland!

k4k scores a hit at the fringe!

Beetlemania: Kafka for Kids! was very well received at the Edinburgh Fringe. It was officially the 6th best reviewed comedy show, it was on The Guardian's list of the best shows and also The Telegraphs list of the weirdest shows at the fringe.

Three Kings

Heidi will return to work with Travelling Light Theatre Company in their show Three Kings. Three Kings fuses storytelling, song and dance and puppetry in a sparkling show about finding out where you belong, overcoming your differences and listening to the secret stargazer in each of us.

Kafka for kids

Heidi will be part of a new show Kafka for Kids at Pleasance Queen Dome in the Edinburgh Fringe, 2018.

Kafkaesque kraziness kreated by Pappy's Tom Parry and director Russell Bolam, who return to Edinburgh after their smash-hit adaptation of Gogol's Marriage: ***** (Stage)

postcardS Festival

MacBETTI will be part of The Postcards Festival at Jackson's Lane on the 24th of July.

She toils and troubles through the Scottish play with quick wit and even quicker wardrobe changes in this spirited send-up of the bard's witchiest play. High on energy, low on iambic pentameter.

the Ugly duckling

Heidi will join the cast of Traveling Light Theatre Company's production of The Ugly Duckling, which will be performed at the Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol this Christmas.

macbetti

Heidi's new show MacBETTI will be presented at Camden People's Theatre and at The Marlborough Theatre as a part of Brighton Fringe Festival in May 2017. MacBETTI is a funny, rip-off of Shakespeare's Macbeth, where one woman takes over all the roles in the play. High on energy, low on iambic pentameter!
Camden People's Theatre 16th-20th of May 9pm.
Marlborough Theatre, Brighton
30th & 31st of May 9pm.
Supported by
Arts Council England

Lola

Lumo Company will be part of Resolution 2017 at The Place, presenting a work-in-progress version of their upcoming show Lola on the 25th of February, presented by Jackson's Lane.

Lola is a piece that combines circus and physical theatre dealing with the theme of memory loss. It's an absurd exploration of trying to remember and not remembering.

calm down, dear

Heidi has been invited to
present macBETH, her new
work-in-progress show at Camden People's Theatre's 'Calm Down, Dear' festival.

Heidi will take over all the roles in Shakespeare's play in the name of gender equality, power and stupidity!

On stage with Heidi (as she plays all the characters) will be Gus Kennedy Jacob, as a prop dude / musican / prompter / innocent bystander.
